Cryptocurrencies and Slot Machines-A Perfect Storm?

March 26, 2020 by Gregory

In the hi-tech digital age, many terms are bound around that confuse the public. One that we have all heard of is cryptocurrencies, but many of us still don’t know what they are exactly. And soon, gentlemen will experience this feature from wizard slots: play slot games online.

What Is Cryptocurrency

Considering that cryptocurrency is actually a currency that can be used to pay for goods and services online like normal money. The difference here is that the currency has no physical form and exists only as a digital footprint.

These transactions work by using a technology called a blockchain. This is software that is present in a network of computers and it manages and records crypto transactions.

The appeal of this set up is that the technology is thought to keep transactions secure.

Most people have only ever heard of bitcoins but it is thought that there are more than 2200 different cryptocurrencies that are traded publicly.

According to CoinMarketCap, as of June 6th, 2019, the total value of all cryptocurrencies stood at around $246 billion. Bitcoins were still the most popular of the digital currencies and were valued at $136 billion.

Their popularity can be attributed to the security and the fact that this currency removes the power from the banks allowing a more decentralized control of people’s money.

It’s hard to tell if these cryptocurrencies are the future as a currency needs stability to survive. Bitcoin has been anything but stable since it’s introduction and the value of this cryptocurrency dropped to a record low in 2018.

Now that you have some idea of what cryptocurrency is, you are probably wondering how to acquire them.

Some cryptocurrencies can be purchased with U.S dollars, others actually need to be brought by using a cryptocurrency.

An app is also needed that has a wallet that can hold your currency and then you need to hit a trading exchange.

Cryptocurrency and Slots

Some people describe cryptocurrency as the equivalent of buying chips at a casino, so is cryptocurrency and the casino industry a good match?

If you believe that paper money will eventually be phased out in favour of digital cash as some do, then how will this affect the gambling industry and especially casinos and slots?

The UK has definitely caught the gambling bug and the flutter of choice is continuing to side with slot machines. Annual revenue from our love affair with slots is about to hit the £2billion mark.

It is thought that this will continue to grow in the future, so it comes as no surprise that slots and the possible currency of the future has already been linked together.

The gaming industry is correct to be alarmed at the rise in popularity of cryptocurrencies as a limited few slots and casinos are ready to accept these.

Very few slots games and casino venues actually accept these currencies, which literally gives the cryptocurrency customer limited choice of what casino to visit and games to play.

Another drawback is that most cryptocurrency casinos are not licensed, therefore customers could find it very difficult to withdraw any winnings or reach a satisfactory conclusion to any disputes that may arise.

Furthermore, a future crackdown on cryptocurrencies is expected, due mainly to the possible funding of terrorism and other security worries. This will make it even harder for it to get a foothold within the gaming industry.

However, there is a flip side to all of this and part of a casino’s success is moving with the times. So despite the anticipation of strict guidelines being introduced to cryptocurrencies, it is thought that slots and casinos will eventually embrace these new digital cash formats and produce more slots and games that accept them.

There are benefits of having crypto slots and casinos and these are mostly due to the secure nature of digital currencies.

Online casinos spend a lot of their income on creating a safe environment for their customers to play in. This is due to the immense amount of personal data held by such establishments.

Credit cards numbers, bank account details and other sensitive information all need to be kept 100 percent secure at all times.

This would still be the case with a cryptocurrency online casino but less private information would be needed, more especially when it comes to banking.

This would attract more customers as one of the appeals of online gambling is that we all remain anonymous.

If you are lucky enough to hit a jackpot win on a slot, your money will also be paid out much quicker in the cryptocurrency world.

At present some winners receive their cash in installments over months, as not all casinos are large enough to pay out huge jackpot wins instantly.

Another benefit to customers will be that payments will be instant and banks will be removed from the equation.

Cryptocurrencies and Slots Final Thoughts

There are still many grey areas when it comes to the relationship between slots and cryptocurrencies and they are far from perfect bedfellows.

The main issues are developing slot games that accept such digital transactions. Then there is the stability of these currencies.

At present their value fluctuates greatly. As governments around the world prepare to introduce more regulations and tighter security measures to combat potential terrorism and money laundering, this will also add fuel to the stability fire.

Slots are also facing a new world of far stricter regulation. The UK government has recently introduced a £2 maximum betting stake on fixed-odds betting terminals. The impact on these and their popularity remains unknown.

Even though it sounds like the two cannot coexist comfortably, once all the tighter regulations are put in place, it will be clearer to see whether the future of slots is one with cryptocurrencies at its heart.

What might clinch it is the ease in which this currency can be moved around and the speed of potential payouts of winnings, without waiting for bank transaction times.

Throw in the need for less personal data and this could eventually end up a match made in heaven.

Try to win small, achievable jackpots:

Games which offer smaller jackpots, often pay out more often and have higher RTP rates. In fact, your chances of winning a few smaller jackpots and doubling your money in a single playing session, is a lot higher, than your chances of winning one single large jackpot. 4 Ways to Keep Your Current Customers Happy

March 20, 2020 by Gregory

If you have been in business long, then you realize it is much less expensive to keep your current customers than having to go out and find new ones to replace the ones that are leaving you. For many businesses, the loyal customers that have been using them for years and years make up 90 percent of their business. Once you get your customer-base established, your business will be able to run smoothly for years to come. Rather than risk having your current customers look elsewhere, here are four ways to keep your customers as happy as possible.

Don’t Forget Who Made You

Cell phone companies are notorious for offering new customers a better rate than the people who have been with them for years. All it does is make your loyal customers angry and provides them a reason to look elsewhere. The last thing you want to do is alienate your current customers by providing better rates to your new ones.

Whether you provide goods or services, you can always give discounts to your customers who have been with you for years. For instance, if they have been providing you business for a couple of years, give them ten percent off of their next bill. Let them know that you appreciate them sticking with you for their needs. If you need to keep better track of your customer relationship data, you should look into ERP and CRM consulting. They can find the right software that will simplify keeping track of your customers.

Reward Them for Recommending You

Many businesses are built from word of mouth, so reward your current customers that are recommending you to others. Reward them with a gift certificate when someone comes in saying they were recommended by a friend. After all, nearly half of all gift certificates don’t ever get redeemed, so you might not be out any revenue at all in the end.

Email Your Customers Once a Month

Let your customers know they matter to you by emailing them once a month. In this email, you can recommend a service you think they may need or offer them some specific items that you have available.

Greet Them as Extended Family

When a business owner remembers your name and who you are, it just makes you feel good. Know your customers and they will be less likely to leave you and go with someone else. It is hard to turn your back on family after all. If all of this doen’t help you can do a giveaway that will keep coming back. Make giveaway a custom cornhole board with your business logo on top. This way they get something for free and always reminded of your business when having fun.

Is Your Company Losing the Turnover War in Onboarding?

March 17, 2020 by Gregory

Employee turnover is the bane of HR and payroll. Every time an employee leaves, the departure initiates a cascade of events that cost time and money. For this reason alone, retention is important. It costs employers far less in the long run to retain employees than having to constantly replace them.

How is your company doing? Do you feel like you are losing the turnover war? If so, take a look at whether or not your salaries and benefits are competitive. Also take a look at things like company culture and work environment. If everything seems up to snuff, your turnover problem could be an onboarding problem.

Onboarding is not just a small list of tasks to be completed on a new employee’s first day. It is more than just filling out paperwork and being introduced to other team members. Onboarding is actually a process that takes most companies at least several weeks to complete. Depending on the job, onboarding could go on for months.

Early Turnover Rates

If you do not think a poor onboarding experience has anything to do with high turnover, think again. Statistics show that nearly 40% of all employee turnover occurs within the first six months of employment. Additionally, 20% of total turnover occurs within the first 45 days. Some 23% of all new hires leave their jobs within the first year.

The numbers don’t lie. It is clear that employees who leave their jobs tend to do so rather early in their tenures. Everything from salary and benefits to company culture can be contributing factors. But by and large, onboarding is a significant contributor to new employee dissatisfaction.

Long and Complex Processes

Dallas-based BenefitMall says an emerging trend in HR and payroll for 2020 is less emphasis on process. This is no coincidence. For some companies, onboarding is a long and complex process that requires too much time and effort from both employers and new employees. Much of what is involved in onboarding is either unnecessary or inefficient.

Onboarding can be improved by focusing less on process and more on results. Between new technologies and the modern penchant for personalization, onboarding can become a more streamlined affair that allows for faster completion with less effort.

Too Many Repetitive Tasks

With long and complex onboarding processes come repetitive tasks. For example, consider a job candidate spending a significant amount of time filling out a job application. Upon hire, much of the same information required by the application must now be entered on other forms. New hires can spend hours on the first day just filling out paperwork.

Lack of Training

Another area of poor onboarding performance is training. For a lot of small businesses, training amounts to nothing more than pairing new hires with experienced employees for a couple of days of on-the-job supervision. This hardly constitutes a comprehensive training experience. Furthermore, if an experienced employee has little to no training skills, pairing him or her with a new hire is not going to help much.

Training is an undeniable part of onboarding. As such, new hires who feel they aren’t receiving quality training during the first few weeks or months may quickly determine that their new company is not a good fit.

There is no denying that onboarding is part of recruiting and hiring. You cannot run a company without it. However, inefficient and complex onboarding processes that don’t do enough to get new hires working productively can actually be counterproductive to a company’s hiring and retention efforts. If your company is losing the turnover war, take a good look at your onboarding processes.

How Smart Speakers Bridge the Tech Generation Gap

March 16, 2020 by Gregory

Anyone old enough to remember first generation VCRs also remembers all the jokes that came with them. Among those jokes were the many poking fun at older people who couldn’t seem to get the hang of VCR programming. Alas, not much has changed in 30 years. There is still a pretty wide generation gap when it comes to technology.

Take smart home technology, for example. Seniors are less likely to have the knowledge and experience to manage smart home systems just as their predecessors had trouble with things like VCRs and programmable thermostats. The good news is that there is a workaround: voice control.

Introducing the Smart Speaker

Integrating voice control with smart home technology has been on the radar for quite a while. However, engineers could not make the jump from two independent technologies to one right away. Both had to be developed first. As such, the first voice-controlled devices brought to market were digital assistants, like Apple’s Siri.

Also known as voice assistants, digital assistants ultimately gave way to smart speakers. In fact, a smart speaker is essentially a digital assistant embedded in a dedicated device. Functionally speaking, it is identical to an embedded phone assistant.

The point of all of this is to say that smart speakers had to reach a certain level of maturity before they could be integrated with smart home technology. Now that such integration has begun, we are beginning to bridge the generation gap in the technology arena. We are bridging it by giving people the ability to control their smart home devices simply by speaking.

No New Skills Required

The beauty of voice control is that it does not require any special skills – at least after a smart speaker has been installed and sufficiently trained. Getting the weather forecast using a smart speaker does not require firing up a computer, starting a web browser, or navigating to a website. You get the forecast simply by asking for it.

Voice control takes a lot of the mystery out of using technology. Seniors can already speak. They already know how to ask questions and listen for answers. That makes voice control with something like a Vivint smart speaker extremely easy.

Granted, a minimum amount of technical know-how is necessary to set up a smart home system. Using a smart thermostat requires at least minimal programming to get things started. Once everything is set up though, routine tasks can be completed simply by speaking.

Making Lives More Comfortable

Bridging the generation gap in the technology arena is a good idea on multiple levels. Perhaps most important is the fact that it allows seniors to live more comfortable lives. For example, think of a senior with mobility issues living alone. Turning on the lights every evening can be a chore.

With a smart speaker and smart lighting, that senior can turn lights on simply by speaking a command. There is no need to get up and walk around the house. There is no need to take the risk of falling down. And when it’s time for bed, there is no need to walk through a dark house. The system can be set up so that the senior can speak a command to turn off all the lights once he or she is safely in bed.

Technology is supposed to make our lives easier. Some of it does; some of it does not. Voice-controlled smart speakers are an example of one technology that does make life easier by bridging the generation gap. Smart speakers make home automation accessible to people of any age.

6 Things You Need to Figure Out Before Opening an Online Store

March 14, 2020 by Gregory

In 2019, global eCommerce sales reached $3.5 trillion, marking an 18 percent increase from 2018. And according to Shopify, eCommerce sales are projected to double by 2023 to over $6.5 trillion. With the steady growth of the eCommerce space, more prospective entrepreneurs are considering launching an online business.

However, with the rampant competition, oversaturated product markets, and more customers demanding convenience than ever before, launching a successful online store isn’t easy. With that in mind, here are six things you need to figure out before opening an online store.

Identify Your Niche

img

Identifying a niche demographic is essential to your success as an online business owner. By pinpointing a niche, business owners can connect with a highly engaged—and highly profitable—demographic. Focusing on a specific niche also makes it easier to raise brand awareness, drive organic traffic, and build a loyal customer base.

Your niche also influences your sales figures, how much effort you’ll need to devote to customer support, and whether or not you’ll have repeat customers. Consequently, set aside some time to think of a strategic niche before brainstorming product ideas or building your brand.

Choose Your Products

img

After identifying your niche, determine what products you’re going to sell. Selling products you’re passionate about can not only fuel your motivation to run your business, but it can also help you create a powerful brand message that authentically speaks to customers.

For example, if you’re passionate about health and nutrition, consider manufacturing your own line of dietary supplements. Makers Nutrition, a reputable vitamins supplier, manufactures high-quality vitamins and nutritional supplements at affordable prices, allowing small business owners to enjoy high profit margins and quality products. Because supplement customers recognize and appreciate superior supplement products, working with an experienced vitamin manufacturer can help you drive business and encourage repeat customers.

Take Advantage of Trends

img

Staying up-to-date with the latest trends can help you win space in the eCommerce market. Research recent, trending products within your niche and capitalize on them before they reach peak popularity.

As a small business owner, taking advantage of trends can help you raise brand awareness and build credibility. You’ll be able to own new SEO keywords and establish yourself as a leader in your niche market.

Build Your Brand

img

Choosing the right business name is integral to the success of your eCommerce business. Opt for a business name that’s easy to pronounce and spell, holds some significance, and has an available “.com“ domain. Avoid choosing a name that’s too long, unoriginal, or focuses too much on a specific product.

After securing your business name, focus on building and strengthening your brand. Your brand should clearly convey who you are, what you sell, and attract your target audience. Make sure to create a mission statement to express the goals of your business.

Create a Website

img

If you’re planning to build an eCommerce store from scratch, start by buying a domain name and creating your own website. On the other hand, if you’re not familiar with HTML or CSS, consider using a free online website creation platform to build your website. Online eCommerce platforms like Wix or Shopify make it easy for small business owners to list and sell products and manage day-to-day business operations.

Grow Your Business

img

Catering to a niche demographic, creating an eCommerce store, and selling problem-solving products doesn’t always guarantee sales. To attract customers, you’ll need to build brand awareness by utilizing powerful marketing techniques.

Investing in a toll-free business phone number to route incoming calls to your desktop, desk phone, or smartphone can give you an edge over the competition by encouraging potential customers to interact with your business. Business phone numbers, which are dedicated phone numbers used by customers to reach businesses and team members, increase overall efficiency and productivity, allowing you to focus on making a positive first impression.

At TalkRoute, each business phone number plan includes a quantity of free business phone numbers. Additional phone numbers can be added to the plan at any time, making it easy to scale your eCommerce business as needed.

With global eCommerce sales at an all-time high, there’s no better time to follow your dream and open your own online store.

The Importance of Managed IT in the Real Estate Industry

March 12, 2020 by Gregory

Managed IT is remotely associated with the real estate sector. It has been helping numerous successful property firms, though, for the past decades. Modern real estate companies rely on technology for many of their activities, so they need to have an IT department or an outsourced IT team.

Experts at Omicron Solutions Ltd, a provider of managed IT services, say that the tools and systems they offer help real estate companies in a variety of ways. These are mainly in the fields of information and document storage, monitoring, and administrative affairs.

Information and document storage

Real estate firms collect and maintain loads of information from multiple sources and in different branches. It does not make sense to keep all of this information on paper or traditional media. As such, it’s imperative to have a group of personnel to handle IT matters. Someone has to take charge of the secure storage of company data, including the setting up of backups and disaster recovery plans.

Small real estate firms may have no need for a dedicated IT team. It’s not going to be the case for bigger companies that operate in multiple locations and maintain a large number of employees or agents. They need experts to organise and protect their information. They can’t afford to lose data or leak critical information to outsiders.

Monitoring

In addition to information storage and backup, real estate companies also need to ensure that their data is accessible whenever necessary. For this, they need to put their data online for easy but secure access from anywhere. It is vital to have a reliable system with permission-based access and protection from all kinds of cyber threats.

It’s unwise to entrust all of these to DIY data systems. That’s why companies that care about data security but don’t have in-house IT teams turn to managed IT solutions. It’s a convenient, dependable, and cost-efficient option compared to doing it on a DIY basis or building an IT team from scratch.

Administrative matters

Other essential factors real estate companies have to address are the compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and the handling of the high-turnover pool of employees/agents. These administrative concerns are likewise resolved by managed IT solutions.

Compliance falls within the ambit of the services provided by most managed IT companies. They can help ascertain that the systems adopted by companies follow established guidelines and standards. The rules set by FCA and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation, for example, are critical regulatory necessities all businesses should follow. The failure to comply can lead to serious consequences.

Additionally, it’s important to have a scalable and flexible system to go with the nature of real estate businesses. The number of employees or agents, in particular, can change every so often. It’s a must to have a system that can accommodate the frequent changes.

Various companies in different industries can benefit from managed IT solutions. As companies grow and transition into setups that involve complex transactions and administrative work, it’s inevitable to require a competent IT team or outsourced IT solutions.

Disability Equipment: The Various Equipment That Can Be Used By Older People

March 11, 2020 by Gregory

Nearly a third of the elderly, particularly over the age of 65, have a disability. People are living longer and longer, but that doesn’t mean that being elderly is all about taking cruises to the South of France or vacationing in Hawaii with the grandkids.

The plain fact is that strokes, falls, and accidents affect thousands every day, and without simple tools to make life easy and bearable, many of those would be forced to move into a nursing home. According to the CDC, one out of every four people over 65 if the U.S. falls each year. Many of those falls take place in the shower, something simple handrails and flip-down seat rests can help eliminate. They are relatively cheap to purchase, easy to install, and they save lives.

Climbing and Descending Stairs:

Another high risk for the elderly is climbing and descending stairs.

Consider these tips:

1. Eliminate Stair Runners as a slip hazard

2. Make sure the stairway has sturdy railings

3. Create fold down rest seats about every 7 or 8 feet They are cheap and easy to install

4. Install non-slip stair slips

5. Make sure there is adequate lighting on the stairs

By Dressing Aids:

There are numerous aids you can purchase for a very reasonable price, that helps the elderly dress themselves. Hooks on sticks allow you to pick up a shirt or sweater and bring it up to your shoulders. Long shoehorns will help you put on and remove your shoes. There are hooking devices that allow the infirm to button and unbutton a sweater with only one hand.

Fire Egress Systems:

Unfortunately, if there is a fire in the house, most disabled elderly can’t run down the stairs. However, there are various places where Fire Evac Systems are available such an under the mattress fire egress system that allows the disabled to be towed quickly downstairs for around $120.

There are various retailers such as Safety+Mobility evacuation equipment for products that can be helpful and are used for EVAC Safe. The way this one works is it fits under the mattress, and in the event of a fire, an adult helper straps the disabled person onto their bed, and the system allows both the disabled person and the mattress to be towed down the stairs. The system allows the bed to slide on both carpet and vinyl. More expensive systems allow a person who uses a wheelchair to transfer to a chair designed to be quickly moved down the stairs.

Reaching Devices:

Did you ever catch your 75-year-old mother teetering on a rickety step stool, or even climbing onto a chair to reach the salt or pepper in the kitchen? Besides giving you a near hard attack, the chances she will fall are extremely high. Buy her a reach tool that will retrieve the pepper or that bottle of ketchup for her. No ladders, no chairs. No chance of falling. These are extremely useful for those who live in older homes, which were built for speed and not designed with the elderly in mind.

Medical Alert Systems:

Whether in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the U.S. Europe or Latin America, practically everywhere with Western technology, you can lease a medical alert system for the elderly. You’ve seen the television commercials. And Elderly woman falls in her basement and screams with agony, “help, I’ve fallen and can’t get up.” Untunatately, as much as some comedians might make jokes about them, Medical Alert Systems save the lives of people every single day.

Modern medical alert systems work indoors and outdoors, connect with cellular phone systems, detect falls automatically, and have GPS systems in case you fall out at the park in the parking lot of a shopping centre.

They come in wrist bands and alerts that hang around the neck, and while there may be an expense from $20 to $40 per month, compared to lying in agony for hours waiting for help, are worth the money spent on them.

5 Carbon Fiber Products You’ve Probably Never Seen

March 8, 2020 by Gregory

Carbon fiber is by no means a new material. In fact, it was invented in the late 1950s. What we now know as carbon fiber fabric was developed for the U.S. Air Force by Union Carbide. It was intended to replace fiberglass fabric in aerospace manufacturing.

Today’s carbon fiber has a seemingly endless number of applications. According to Salt Lake City’s Rock West Composites, the biggest consumers of carbon fiber are the aerospace and marine industries. Yet everything from consumer electronics to sporting goods seems to embrace carbon fiber to some degree.

Just how pervasive is carbon fiber? Check out these five products you have probably never seen:

1. Carbon Fiber Rings

We have all seen wedding bands made of gold and silver. In recent years we’ve seen titanium and tungsten as well. Now you can get your rings made from carbon fiber. They are made using a special fabrication process to create tubes that can be cut to size and finished. A carbon fiber ring is as tough as titanium or tungsten while also weighing considerably less. It is so light that you might forget you are wearing it.

2. Carbon Fiber Fountain Pens

Most of us write so little that we barely pick up a pencil or ballpoint pen. Moreover, many of us have never seen an old school fountain pen either. Well, guess what? Fountain pens still exist. Now you can even get them with carbon fiber shafts.

The point here is not to create an indestructible fountain pen. Carbon fiber is chosen as the manufacturing material because it looks awesome. Making a carbon fiber fountain pen is all about taking something old and re-imagining it as something new.

3. Carbon Fiber Business Cards

Paper business cards are a dime a dozen. So are plastic. We bet you’ve never seen a carbon fiber business card, though. A carbon fiber business card is one made from carbon fiber fabric that has not been mixed with epoxy resin. It remains flexible enough to be printed on yet strong enough to withstand quite a bit of punishment. Though expensive, you would certainly make a statement with a carbon fiber business card.

4. Carbon Fiber Bathtubs

Manufacturers have been making bathtubs from fiberglass for decades. So why not start building them with carbon fiber? Some have begun doing just that, especially for customers that want modern fixtures at any cost.

The advantage of a carbon fiber bathtub is its lighter weight. The fact that it looks so cool doesn’t hurt, either. One of these tubs would look excellent in a modern bathroom with a black/white/gray color theme. Not that you would want it to, but carbon fiber tubs also hide a lot of dirt.

5. Carbon Fiber Straight Razor

Just like fountain pens, straight razors went out of style some years ago. Most men shave these days with disposable safety blades. However, if you are into doing things the way real men used to do them, shaving with a straight razor is still possible. If you want to look cool while doing so, consider a carbon fiber razor.

The blade itself is not made of carbon fiber; it is stainless steel. Rather, it is the frame that sports the carbon fiber. A carbon fiber frame reduces weight and looks rather sleek. Combine it with a carbon fiber case and your daily shave takes on a whole new meaning.
